David Albalah

David has served as a party-selected and court-appointed mediator for nearly 30 years as both a partner at AmLaw 200 law firms, and in private practice. During that time he has mediated hundreds of business disputes for clients that have included Fortune 500 corporations such as Chubb, DuPont and Costco, and celebrities such as Joan Rivers and Sylvester Stallone.

Before launching his mediation practice, David was a Senior Partner at Bracewell LLP (formerly Bracewell & Giuliani LLP) where he headed up the firm’s Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) practice.

Before that, David was a Capital Partner at McDermott Will & Emery LLP, and before that, an associate at Kaye Scholer LLP. Since 1993, David has also served as a mediator on the register of mediators of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

David received his J.D. from the New York University School of Law. Before attending law school, David practiced as a CPA at Ernst & Young LLP. He also founded and built two successful small businesses. David’s business accounting and entrepreneurial background provides critical expertise when mediating business disputes involving complex financial issues.

David has also served as a member of the Business Panel of the American Arbitration Association, and taught dispute resolution and corporate reorganization at Rutgers University School of Law.

In his spare time, David is an avid bicyclist. In 2016, he biked 1,000 miles in 10 days around Lake Michigan to raise money and awareness for Sharsheret, an organization supporting women and their families affected by breast and ovarian cancer. He also enjoys skiing, playing tennis and riding his motorcycle.
